BELFAST & DISTRICT TABLE TENNIS LEAGUE (Half Way Report)

Team AK-07

The first half of the premier league panned out more or less as expected, with Glenburn A andQueensfighting it out for top spot, AKO7 and Knockagh scrapping for third and fourth place, and newly-promoted Glenburn B bringing up the rear.

At the beginning of the season it was assumed that the top Queen’s trio of Peter Graham, Daryl Strong, and Phil Wallace would blow the opposition away, and indeed they did not lose a single match between them.  However, due to other commitments, Queen’s were only once able to turn out this team, with the result that they dropped valuable points, including losing to Glenburn 6-4 in what was the “crunch” match of the first half.
